MLB news roundup
Happy Monday, Athletics Nation!
The A’s lost a double header to the Twins yesterday to give Minnesota a four game sweep, which followed a three game sweep at the hands of the Padres earlier in the week. All that adds up to a winless 0-7 road trip that extends the A’s current losing streak to nine.
The A’s are now 2-11 in June and have won only three of their last 23 road games. Hopefully we’ll be treated to something a little better as this final season of A’s baseball in Oakland continues into the heart of summer.
Meanwhile, the Braves keep scooping up former Athletics. On Saturday, they called up Ramon Laureano, newly signed to a minor league deal a couple weeks back after his release from the Guardians. Yesterday, Atlanta also selected the contract of Grant Holmes, a 2014 first round pick of the Dodgers who went the A’s way in the Josh Reddick trade.
Congratulations to @GHolmes_14 for his call-up to the Big Leagues with Atlanta! He busted his ass and after the A's let him go, he did everything to keep the dream alive and is making it happen! pic.twitter.com/1pYSCpYmnu

But who needs Grant Holmes when you have near-name doppelgänger Grant Holman and his 0.00 ERA stashed in Triple-A? Call this guy up for a cup o’ Joe already!
Have a wonderful week, AN.
That’s good company.
Tyler Soderstrom has joined Jose Canseco, Reggie Jackson, Jimmie Foxx, and Mickey Cochrane as the only A's players age 22 or younger to hit four home runs in a seven-game span.

Snoop calling games at Howard Terminal would be a nice alternate future.
