ArmInfo.During the meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vladimir Putin, it was agreed that starting from January 1, 2025, the Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia will be involved in the protection of the state borders of Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Turkey, as well as at the checkpoint on the state border of Armenia-Iran.
The protection duties will be solely handled by the Border Troops of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
She noted that during the meeting at the CIS summit with the Russian President, Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the details of the Crossroads of Peace project, handed over the "Crossroads of Peace brochure to the Russian President. He also raised concerns about the expressions and vocabulary used by some Russian officials on regional issues. "The rhetoric of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on regional communications is consistent in both closed and open formats," Pashinyan noted. Baghdasaryan also stated that the Prime Minister positively assessed the outcomes of the meeting with the Russian President. "A wide range of issues were discussed, specific agreements were reached on energy, education, and humanitarian matters," the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia emphasized.
