Security barred Evgeny Lupin, head of the village of Sita, from the meeting of municipal leaders, as he was not on the list of attendees. The Telegram channel "Ukhodim Ochkurami" published his appeal on October 2.
Lupin intended to bring several issues to the governor’s attention, including the need to build new housing and a road to the village, the risks of wildfires, and problems with the bus service. He believes Governor Dmitry Demeshin is avoiding "undesirable leaders elected by the people themselves."
For years, Evgeny Lupin has been writing to Vladimir Putin regarding the problems faced by his village. In September, he staged a picket in Khabarovsk to protest the poor condition of the road connecting Sita to the regional capital.
