Liliya Chanysheva’s disappearance from the penal colony in Perm was reported on July 29 by her husband, Almaz Satin. He learned that Chanysheva had been taken to an unknown location on July 26. Kseniya Fadeyeva’s lawyer received similar information. The date and destination of the activist’s transfer from the penal colony in Novosibirsk, as well as who ordered the transfer, remain unclear.
The Memorial community reported that the lawyer did not find the organization’s co-chair, Oleg Orlov, in pre-trial detention center No. 2 in Syzran. The facility demanded a written request to disclose Orlov’s destination and the reason for his transfer.
Liliya Chanysheva, the former head of Navalny Headquarters* in Bashkortostan, was sentenced to 9.5 years in a penal colony for promoting extremism and participating in the activities of an extremist organization. Kseniya Fadeyeva was sentenced to 9 years for organizing an extremist community and establishing an organization that violated citizens' rights.
Oleg Orlov is being persecuted for publishing an article titled "They Wanted Nazism — They Got It" in a French magazine and on social media. In February 2024, he was sentenced to 2.5 years in a penal colony for "discrediting the army." The verdict was appealed in July, but the court upheld the sentence. Due to the lack of treatment, the human rights defender started losing his hearing in pre-trial detention.
