A set of changes approved by the Armenian government on July 25 to the reproductive programmes implemented in the country will come into force from August 1, 2024, Ruzan Martirosyan, head of the Department of Maternal and Reproductive Health Protection of the Ministry of Health said today./pp

According to her, previously one of the groups of beneficiaries were women aged 20 to 36 who had been diagnosed with infertility for more than 2 years. Now, according to the changes, the circle of beneficiaries has been expanded and they can be childless women with the above diagnosis between 20 and 40 years of age.nbsp;nbsp;/pp
The second group are married couples with secondary infertility aged between 20 and 36, who have 1 child and live in border settlements. With the new change, the condition of living in border settlements has been cancelled,’ Martirosyan said.nbsp;nbsp;/pp
She also said that 842 beneficiaries of the programme were registered in 2022 and in 2023 their number increased to 5,441./pp
In January-July this year, 271 children were born (this figure is the result of changes in 2023), while in 2023, 159 were born./pp
