Marie Claire Malaysia’s cover girls at the 2019 Met Gala
It’s that time of the year again! Fashion’s biggest night happened over the weekend and we couldn’t wait to see fashion’s greatest (and sometimes wackiest) creations! This year, the theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” inspired by the photographer Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay, Notes on Camp. The essay is an upcoming exhibition that the Met will be holding hence the choice of this theme. Further explanation of the theme went along the lines of “irony, humour, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality and exaggeration”.
So hence we saw Lady Gaga’s theatrical arrival where she put on a show in 4 dresses. And Ezra Miller’s wacky and very realistic illusion eye makeup. While Michael Urie turned up in a dress and suit combo that left us all wide eyed. And let’s not get us started on whatever Katy Perry was wearing…

Pom Klementiff
Pom graced the pink carpet with a number in an even brighter pink Salvatore Ferragamo dress! To call it a dress would not be accurate. Underneath the mauve silk cape that gave the look a dressy feel is actually a magenta double-breasted suit. She had her hair in a top knot to further accentuate the oversized neck bow. A pair of gold stiletto metallic foil leather pumps completes her look for the night
