Former Chairman of State Cadastre Committee cused of unlawful transfer of state-owned monuments to Armenian Apostolic Church
ArmInfo. Manuk Vardanyan, former Chairman of the State Cadastre Committee, is facing accusations of unlawfully transferring state-owned historical and cultural monuments to the Armenian Apostolic Church. This information was posted on the Datalex.am website of the judicial and legal system.
According to the prosecution, Manuk Vardanyan and a specialist from the Committee's legal and legislative development department intentionally neglected their official duties, resulting in serious consequences. Manuk Vardanyan has been placed on bail as part of his pretrial detention. Case materials indicate that, with his participation, several monasteries and churches, considered historical and cultural monuments, were transferred to the Armenian Apostolic Church on a grant basis.
The case was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Court on April 9, 2026. Judge Maria Mosinyan will preside over the proceedings.
