Another incident involving Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan occurres  in Yerevan

ArmInfo.Another incident involving the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, occurred in Yerevan today.

Specifically, Simonyan approached the relatives of missing servicemen, who have been gathering in front of the parliament building for several days, demanding the release of a report on the 44-day war in Artsakh.  Footage released by the media shows activist Mikael Margaryan approaching the Speaker of the National Assembly as he passes by and offering to talk. The Speaker declines, saying, "I have nothing to talk about with you, you're not worth it." A verbal altercation with obscene language ensues. Simonyan tells the security guards, "Get rid of him." The missing soldier's uncle, Arsen Ghukasyan, intervenes in the situation, leading to obscene language being exchanged  by both sides.

Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that two citizens were taken from Demirchyan Street (adjacent to the Armenian parliament building - ed.) to the Arabkir police station.

Recall, in April 2023, Alen Simonyan found himself at the center of a scandal when he spat in the face of a citizen in central Yerevan who called him a "traitor." After facing public condemnation, Simonyan apologized, referring to the incident as a "lesson," although he initially viewed it as a provocation.
