Situation on Armenia`s roads
ArmInfo.The RA Ministry of Internal Affairs Rescue Service has released a road situation report.
According to the source, as of the morning of January 14, the highways leading from the Amberd high- altitude weather station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed. The Spitak turns, as well as the roads from the Jermuk interchange to the Sisian-Shinuayr-Tatev-Kapan and Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev highways, are closed to vehicles with trailers.
The Vardenyats mountain pass is also closed to vehicles with trailers. The Tigranashen-Zangakatun highway is difficult to pass. Roads in the direction of Spitak-Gyumri, Ashotsk, and Landzhik are difficult to pass for all types of vehicles. The Dilijan-Vanadzor highway is impassable for vehicles with trailers.
Icy conditions are observed in some areas on roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotsk, and Amasia. Snowfall is observed in the regions of Nairi, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Meghri, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Martuni, Sevan, Abovyan, and Tavush. A blizzard is raging on the Kuchak-Mirak highway. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Department of Emergency Situations and the North Ossetian Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to all types of vehicles.
