DULUTH — Scott Sandelin walked into a quiet hospital room and saw Dale ‘Hoagie’ Haagenson resting in bed. It was Thursday, one week after Hoagie suffered a stroke. There were medical devices everywhere and tubes ever-present, but all Minnesota Duluth’s longtime head coach saw was the heart and soul of Bulldogs hockey. “He had just gotten some tubes and stuff, so he was kind of out of it,” Sandelin said. “I asked him, ‘Who should I play?
