Buhari Assents To 2015 Budget Implementation Extension Into Law
President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law an Act of the National Assembly authorising the executive to extend the implementation of the capital vote component of the 2015 budget beyond December 31, 2015.

This disclosure was made by the senior special assistant to Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang on Thursday, December 30.
He noted that this clarification became necessary as legislators and other stakeholders have been contacting him to ascertain the status of the Act that was forwarded to the president a week ago.

Enang said: “Further to several enquires and calls by legislators, institutions et al on the subject, we deem it appropriate to issue this release.
“His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, has assented to the 2015 appropriation amendment Act passed by the National Assembly on December 22, 2015, (extending the 2015 financial year to March 31st in respect of capital projects).”

The ACT seeks that the N556.9 billion meant for Capital Expenditure in the 2015 budget should be used by appropriate government agencies to carry out infrastructural projects during the dry season.
The Senate had amended the 2015 Supplementary Appropriation Act to enable the executive to implement capital project drawn from 2015 project up to March 2016.
The Senate president, Bukola Saraki had explained that amended ACT will enable government to carry the implementation of capital project pending the approval of 2016 budget.
The new wave of reaction came from the memebers of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party took to social media site Twitter to give a breakdown of the budget while also terming it #BudgetOfYams
