Govt to build new TVET colleges
The government had begun the process of “establishing 15 Technical Vocational Education and Training Colleges in SA”.
|||Pretoria - The South African government has announced that it will build a number of technical vocational education and training colleges across the country.
Presidency spokesperson Bongani Majola said on Thursday that government had begun the process of “establishing 15 Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges in the country”.
On Tuesday, Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande had announced at the Jacob G Zuma RDP Education Trust and Youth Christmas Outreach event in Nkandla that a TVET College would be built in the area.
Majola said the provinces where the TVET Colleges would be built included the Eastern Cape (Graaff-Reinet, Ingwe in Ngqungushe, Ikhala in Sterkspruit and Aliwal North), KwaZulu-Natal (Esayidi in Umzimkhulu, Umfolozi in Bhambanana and Nkandla A and B campuses, UMgungundlovu in Greytown, UMgungundlovu in Msinga, Mthashana in Kwa Gqikazi, Mthashana in Nongoma and Mthashana in Vryheid), Limpopo (Letaba in Giyani, Waterberg in Thabazimbi) and Mpumalanga (Balfour in Gert Sibande).
