SIALKOT: The family of a boy who has been arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for having alleged links with the militant Islamic State group has moved the Lahore High Court against his arrest.
Two boys – Hamza Imtiaz Butt, 16, and Yasir Ali – both residents of Ranjhai village of Daska, were arrested by the CTD for having links with militants.
The family of Hamza Butt filed a petition in the court of LHC judge Justice Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi against the alleged “highhandedness” of the CTD, in this regard, saying the boy was implicated in a false case.
Claiming that Hamza Butt was innocent, his father Imtiaz Yousuf Butt later told a press conference held at the Civil Club, Daska, on Wednesday that his son was a student of 10th class at the local Government Boys High School.
He alleged that Counter Terrorism Department Inspector Riaz Butt had implicated Hamza in a false case of terrorism.
He said both Hamza and Yasir had already been cleared of the charges of having links with militants by sensitive and law enforcing agencies, including the CTD.
