Mutiny: Why Jailed Soldiers May Regain Freedom
Some soldiers who were jailed for cowardice against the Boko Haram insurgency may regain freedom if the federal government heeds the call of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group to reinstate them.

Recall that Nigerian Army during the Jonathan administration arraigned about 71 soldiers on several count charges including criminal conspiracy, conspiracy to commit mutiny, insubordinate behaviour and false accusation.

Later, the death sentences by firing squad passed on 66 soldiers in January and March 2015 by Court Martials was commuted to 10 years imprisonment each.
According to Channels TV, the co-convener of the BBOG on Tuesday, December 29 implored the attorney-general of the federation, (AGF) and minister of justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami to recall the military men who were jailed for cowardice.

Among other demands, the group also asked the government to publicise the report on the mass abduction of the Chibok girls in April, 2014.
On his part, Abubakar Malami advised the group to make their request known to the federal government.
The attorney general also assured the group that the federal government has set up a formidable legal team to take on the war against corruption in courts across the country.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari was committed to bringing to justice looters who mismanaged fund that could have helped to defeat insurgency.
