An 80-year-old woman, Rebecca Igbe, has been reportedly kidnapped in Omuse community, Elele Alimini, in the Emohua local government area of Rivers state.

Daily Post reports that she is believed to be the mother of an assistant commissioner of police in Lagos state, Mr. Batram Igbe.
A source said the kidnappers who were fully armed stormed the area around 9.pm shot sporadically before they whisked away their target who was in an opposite shop to her house.
The source said she pleaded with her abductors but fell on deaf ears as they went ahead and elude with her.
According to The Punch, this is the second time the octogenarian is been kidnap in 2015, as it was hinted that she had earlier been abducted.
The state police command spokesman, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, who confirmed the abduction, said investigation was ongoing in a bid to rescue her from her captors.
“We commenced investigation immediately we received the report about the incident,” he said.
A source who is a resident of the area told newsmen that the gunmen were four in number, adding that nobody was aware that their target was the 80-year-old woman.

“The sound of gunshots scared everybody away. We never knew what or who the gunmen was looking for until they went for the old woman. This is the second time she is being abducted by gunmen this year. This time, they came to her shop around 9pm and took her away. They did not listen to her even when she begged them,” the source said.
However, the relentless efforts of the police in combating crime and other social issues paid in Imo state as reports have it that police officers in the state have arrested a 3–man gang of suspected kidnappers.
In a related development, kidnappers of Rev. Fr. Franklyn Odiaka and Rev. Fr. Moses Nwanochei whom were abducted last Friday at Obior, Aniocha North local government area of Delta state, have established contact with the Issele-Uku Diocese and demanded a ransom of N100 million for their release.
