Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is currently in the news due to his Dil-luminati tour which is currently going in India. Diljit's concert was held in Guwahati on Sunday (December 29), dedicated to late PM Manmohan Singh. The former PM Manmohan Singh died on Thursday following a prolonged illness. Diljit shared a video from his concert where a huge picture of the late PM was displayed and he recited a few lines in Hindi. Diljit dedicated his concert to Manmohan Singh ji.
He said, 'Today's concert is dedicated to former late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He led a very simple life. He never used to answer back or talk ill, which is quite difficult in a profession like politics'. He also added saying, 'Have you ever watched a Lok Sabha session? Our politicians fight like children in nursery class. Even they don't fight like our politicians. Well, I don't want to get into that. But this was the quality of Mr Manmohan Singh - he never talked ill of anyone.'
He quoted saying, 'Hazaron jawabon se meri khamoshi acchi, na jaane kitne sawalon ki aabru rakhe. (My silence is better than a thousand answers; who knows how many questions it preserves the dignity of)'.
Diljit also urged the youth to follow Manmohan Singh's principles in life as he said, 'You should be focused on your goal because the one who is saying negative things to you is also a God's avatar. Maybe you are being judged as to how will you be able to handle that situation'. He then bowed his head to Singh and said he was the man who served the nation throughout his life. He continued saying, 'was the first Sikh who had his signature on the Indian currency. It was a big achievement. So, today, I bow my head in front of a man who loved his country and spent his life serving it'.
Within no time, the fans lauded the singer's gesture and praised him. One user wrote, 'Bohot badhiya paaji', another commented saying, 'History will be kinder to him than the contemporary media'. Third user wrote, 'Ek hi dil hai, paaji, kitni baar jeetoge? Pyaar hi pyaar, respect hi respect!' Congress leader Supriya Shrinate also praised Diljit Dosanjh as she wrote, 'It takes one brave man to stand apart from the crowd and shine. @diljitdosanjh dedicated his concert to Dr Manmohan Singh ji a gesture that sets him apart from most in the film industry a bunch of cowards who did not even have the decency to condole the death of India's former Prime Minister (sic)'.
Diljit performed at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April 2023 and achieved a big milestone as first Indian performer to achieve the feat. He will conclude the India leg of Dil-Luminati tour in Ludhiana.
