Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor shared a romantic relationship for a few years. Despite the age gap and social media trolling, they remained strong. However, this year, news emerged that they have parted ways. Gossip mills munched of rumours of their breakup for a while. Later on, at an event, Arjun Kapoor confirmed that they are no more a couple. He announced 'I am single' confirming that they are no more a couple. Malaika Arora has now shared her views on Arjun's public declaration about their relationship status.

In an interaction with entertainment news portal Etimes, Malaika Arora was asked about her views on Arjun Kapoor's public announcement. To which she said that she would like to keep her personal life personal. "I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative," she was quoted saying.

It was at a Diwali event that Arjun Kapoor made the announcement. As he took over the stage, the crowd started chanting Malaika Arora's name and that led him to say that 'Now I am single, relax.' The video went viral on social media in no time. It was for the first time that one of them had public addressed the rumours and confirmed the split. Despite the breakup, Arjun Kapoor was among the first few to show up when Malaika Arora's father Anil Mehta passed away. He was seen supporting the Arora family and even attended the funeral and prayer meet. In a chat with Raj Shamani, Arjun Kapoor spoke about the same and said that it was on impulse. He said, "In this case, there was also an instinct and impulse. If I've formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad."
