It looks like The Academy has been keeping itself updated with some of the most amazing Bollywood movies or stars. A few weeks ago, they surprised everyone by posting a fantastic birthday wish for Shah Rukh Khan. Well, their latest post celebrates something related to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya's red wedding lehenga from one of her movies has been put up for display at the Academy Museum.
The Academy took to their Instagram page to share a video in which Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wears the gorgeous red lehenga. To our entertainment news readers, we would like to inform them that his lehenga is from her superhit movie Jodhaa Akbar, which also stars Hrithik Roshan. The post includes a clip of Aishwarya wearing that lehenga in the movie and a picture of how it is displayed at the museum.
The caption for the same reads, "A lehenga fit for a queen, designed for the silver screen. In JODHAA AKBAR (2008), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's red wedding lehenga is a feast for the eyes: vibrant zardozi embroidery, centuries-old craftsmanship, and a hidden gem quite literally. Look closely and you'll spot a peacock, India's national bird, made entirely of jewels. Neeta Lulla didn't design a costume; she crafted a legacy. Step into history (and color) at the Academy Museum's COLOR IN MOTION exhibition. Link in the Academy's bio for tickets."
In the comments, netizens are impressed with The Academy appreciating Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. One person wrote, "So academy finally recognised Aishwarya Rai Movie." Another commented, "She is Aishwarya Rai she can wear clothes dug out from the ground after thousands or even millions of years, and still turn them into iconic fashion." One more person commented, "The Queen Aishwarya Rai. Always and forever."
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai was last seen in the Tamil pan-India film Ponniyin Selvan II (2023). The actress has not signed any new projects since then.
