Included deep in the latest spending bill is a sneaky congressional pay raise.
Imagine that!
I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.
You may be struggling to afford everyday items and pay your bills but get this, your do-nothing members of Congress want a pay raise!
Yep, buried in the bill to fund the government through March 14 is a sneaky little provision to hike congressional pay.
Some lawmakers, such as Senator Dick Durbin, feel they are entitled to a pay bump due to the fact they haven’t gotten one since 2009.
There’s a reason for that, the automatic annual cost-of-living pay bump afforded to lawmakers under a 1989 law has been consistently and rightfully blocked.
Lawmakers haven’t wanted to explain to their cash-strapped constituents why THEY feel they should get a raise as average taxpayers struggle thanks, in part, to poor government leadership!
But some lawmakers must be feeling mighty bold and entitled this go-around and may have been hoping the pay hike would get lost in the 1,547-page government spending bill.
Nice try!
