Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 was one of the biggest releases of 2024. As the first part was widely loved, the audience has great expectations from the film. However, the Shankar-directed film received very negative reviews, from fans as well as the critics, upon its release. The filmmaker, who is now gearing up for the release of his next film, Game Changer, has reacted to the flak his previous film received.
Shankar told an entertainment news portal about his thoughts when he saw the negative reviews for Indian 2. He even spoke about the impact of the same. The filmmaker said that he didn't expect that the Kamal Haasan starrer would receive so many negative reviews. However, he has not let it affect him and has decided to deliver better work with Game Changer and Indian 3.
Further, Shankar said that he is quite confident that Game Changer and Indian 3 would change everything. The filmmaker also addressed the release of Indian 3. There have been reports that Kamal's movie will directly release on an OTT platform. Well, that's not happening, as the director clearly stated that it will first release in theatres only. Despite the sequel receiving negative reviews, Shankar has not dropped the idea of making a third installment. This year, Kamal Haasan also had a special role in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD, for which he received immense praise.
In the same interview, he talked about Ram Charan's Game Changer. He is quite satisfied with the way the political thriller has tuned out to be. The filmmaker believes that for Ram, it's a character of a lifetime and the movie is filled with brilliant screenplay. Game Changer also stars Kiara Advani, Srikanth, Anjali SJ Suryah and Jayaram in pivotal roles It will hit theatres on January 10, 2025.
