How to buy a Christmas tree and keep it looking fresh for longer
When cartoon character Charlie Brown set off in search of the perfect Christmas tree, he returned with one so feeble that a single ornament dragged it to the floor.
But according to Pines and Needles Team Leader Alex Dardart, picking out a festive – and healthy – fir or spruce can be quite simple when following a few helpful tips, which she explains in this video.
Knowing how to buy and how to care for a real Christmas tree ensures maximum enjoyment throughout the Christmas period, and we all know that there is nothing worse than coming home to a wilting, brown tree in the first few weeks of December.
The trick, it seems, is in picking wisely, and Dardart has some top tips for choosing a winner at your local Christmas tree farm.
Once your tree is safely home, the fun part begins: decorating. Dardart says that 2015’s most popular trends include traditional reds and golds as well as Nordic themes of whites and blues.
“But we cater for all types of trends,” she says. “If you want a James Bond theme, we can do that for you.”
