Tristan Harris, co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology, spoke to Brian Kilmeade about a lawsuits against Character.AI chatbot over teaching a child to engage in self-harm and encouraging violence against their parents. Harris warns that if we care about the U.S. beating China on AI, we can’t be deploying AI systems that harm our families and harm our next generation. Harris asked the question, “Do we win against China if we end up basically releasing models that we lose control over, or do we win against China when we win release AI models that can cause all this online harassment to our population?”
When asked about his opinion of David Sacks, who will be the White House’s first AI & Crypto Czar in the new Trump administration, Tristan says Sacks is a very talented businessman with an understanding of AI. Tristian added, he would love to speak to Sacks and be helpful and if called, would happily meet with him.
