Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan who is best known for his role in Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome spoke his heart out about being kidnapped from the Delhi-Meerut highway. The actor was allegedly called under the pretext of attending an award show in Meerut on November 20. But, within no time things took an ugly turn.
Mushtaq Khan's business partner, Shivam Yadav in an interview with a media portal revealed that the actor was tricked into boarding a car that would take him far from Delhi. The actor was reportedly invited to the event with flight tickets and an advance payment which was sent to his account. After the star landed in Delhi, he was picked up and driven to a secluded area near Bijnor. The actor was held hostage by his kidnappers for nearly 12 hours and they even tortured him. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of one crore rupees. After all the torture and chaos, the kidnappers took Rs 2 lakh from Khan's and his son's bank accounts. According to Shivam, Mushtaq tried to escape after hearing the morning azaan as he realized that there was a mosque nearby. The actor took help from the locals and with the help of the cops, he reached home safely.
Shivam said, 'Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened to him. However, he was always sure that he would file an FIR after he composed himself. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts, and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognizes the neighborhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely catch the culprits soon'.
He later added saying, 'We had no clue about the case. After Mushtaq sir returned, we spoke about the incident with a few of our close friends. When Sunil's case was highlighted in the media, they informed us about the same. It is shocking that two public figures from the industry had to go through a similar ordeal. We hope there is awareness and protection in the future for everyone'. Mushtaq will soon address the media in the coming days and will narrate the entire incident.
Well, this kidnapping bears similarities with comedian Sunil Pal's abduction. The actor-comedian was also duped into attending an event and later got kidnapped. The kidnappers asked for a ransom of Rs 20 lakhs and later took 8 lakhs from him.
