Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly has finally broken silence on the controversy involving her and her stepdaughter Esha Verma. Well, Esha had accused Rupali of being 'toxic' and 'abusive'. Esha is the daughter of Ashwin Verma and his ex-wife Sapna Verma, who parted ways in 2008. Ashwin later fell in love with Rupali in 2013 and the two tied the knot. Rupali and Ashwin welcomed their son, Rudransh, the same year.
For the uninitiated, the controversy began when a 2020 post by Esha resurfaced online. In the post, Esha alleged that Rupali had an affair with Ashwin, while he was still married to her mother. She even went on to accuse Rupali of being 'controlling' and 'abusive'. She also shocked everyone as she said that Rupali made death threats toward both her and her mother.
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly talks about the entire controversy. She was asked if she was affected by the entire episode and Rupali said, 'Agar main kahoon ki nahi affect hoti toh main jhoot kahungi, of course affect hoti hai. Hum insaan hain agar hamare baare mein koi peeth peeche thodi si burai bhi kar de toh bura lagta hai'.
She cotinued saying, 'Jo log pyaar karte hai wo log pyaar karte rahenge. Aap acche karam karte jao, achhi cheezein aapke saath aaj nahi toh kal zarur hongi. Bura samay kabhi-kabhi aata hai, buri cheezein hoti hain, lekin acchai hamesha jeetti hai'.
Rupali had filed a defamation lawsuit for Rs 50 crore after Esha accused her and was seen damaging her image with her statements. Esha claimed that she felt unsafe around the actress. Last month. Rupali won the defamation case against Esha. The latter removed all the controversial posts from social media and also made her Instagram account private which marked a major win for Rupali said her lawyer Sana Raees Khan.
