Rumours are swirling from France about the potential future of Gianluigi Donnarumma, suggesting he could soon be on the radars of several Serie A clubs.
L’Equipe has reported on the discontent reportedly felt by the national team goalkeeper, which might prompt him to seek a return to Italy.
The question remains, however, which clubs would be interested in pursuing him? Calciomercato.com has attempted to answer this.
“Who can sign him? Juventus recently acquired Di Gregorio, and their previous ‘courtship’ was under a different management than the current one,” reports Calciomercato.com.
The article notes that “Roma, who pursued him when he left Milan, is now in a complicated situation,” adding that they have “Svilar as an investment for the future.”
As for Milan, a return seems unlikely “for environmental reasons following his departure in 2021.”
Hence, the potential for Donnarumma to make a return to Italy seems to rest solely with Napoli and Inter.
Antonio Conte’s club is currently dealing with the contract expiration of Alex Meret, who, interestingly enough, is of interest to Inter.
“Ausilio and Marotta greatly admire the Italian captain,” Calciomercato.com states, pointing out that Donnarumma would “complete an already solid Italian group and they are in pursuit of Sommer’s successor.”
The article suggests these are “two possibilities to keep under observation, as well as Donnarumma’s discontent.”
“Will the bomb go off, or will the ticking stop?” it provocatively questions.
