Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled its much-anticipated Electric Origin SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e. Built on Mahindra’s proprietary INGLO Electric Origin Architecture and powered by the MAIA artificial intelligence platform, these vehicles promise cutting-edge technology, advanced safety, and superior performance. The BE 6e is priced at ₹18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts at ₹21.90 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom).
Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs adopt the “Heartcore Design” philosophy, blending bold aesthetics with modern engineering. The BE 6e stands out with its edgy, performance-oriented design, while the XEV 9e offers a more sophisticated SUV-coupe style, emphasizing luxury and refinement. Both vehicles feature advanced aerodynamics, spacious interiors, and a host of technology-driven features.
Key elements include race-inspired digital cockpits, augmented-reality HUDs, and VisionX technology, alongside features like the Infinity Roof and an immersive Harman Kardon sound system. The interiors are designed for comfort, with personalized themes for lighting, sound, and climate control.
Both SUVs are powered by 79 kWh LFP battery packs offering class-leading ranges: 682 km for the BE 6e and 656 km for the XEV 9e (MIDC-certified). They support fast charging, achieving 20-80% in under 20 minutes using a 175 kW charger. The INGLO architecture integrates a 3-in-1 powertrain delivering up to 210 kW, allowing the BE 6e to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the XEV 9e achieves the same in 6.8 seconds.
Safety features include ADAS Level 2+, with animal and pedestrian detection, fatigue monitoring, and Secure360 surround recording. The vehicles are equipped with intelligent semi-active dampers, brake-by-wire technology, and electronically controlled suspension for a refined driving experience.
Mahindra is enhancing the EV ownership experience with over-the-air updates, advanced connectivity through Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295, and dedicated support via CHARGE.IN, a 350-member charging vertical. Customers will also benefit from lifetime battery warranties and a seamless charging network.
Bookings for these SUVs will begin in early 2025, with deliveries expected by March. Mahindra’s strategy includes phased rollouts and a ₹4,500 crore investment in EV technologies and production capacity.
