Nana Patekar gave his review about Animal. He said that he was initially reluctant to watch Animal first but his friends convinced him to watch as they praised Anil Kapoor's performance in the movie. He went on to praise Anil's performance in the movie.

He shared that Anil's acting stood out as more restrained compared to the others in the movie. Animal was one of the the highest grossing movies of 2023. In the same year, we had many hit movies like Jawan, Pathaan, Gadar 2 that ruled the box office.

Animal has got all the love but there are people who have criticised the movie for his violent content and for the bad words used. Many feel that the movie is anti feminist and shows disrespect towards women. The movie also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor and others in pivotal roles.
