In 2000, Kajol was offered to play a parallel lead in one of the movies that features Shah Rukh Khan. However, when the actress heard the story, she walked out of the room. At least that's what the movie's director said in an interview.
To all our entertainment news readers, we would like to inform you that the movie we are talking about is Josh. In the movie, the actress was offered the role of Shirley, SRK, aka Max's twin sister. It was a role that wasn't easy to cast, as one had to play Khan's sister. On India Now, Mansoor revealed that he narrated the film to the DDLJ star as he wanted to play Max's sister.
"This is the ultimate sacrifice, after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. After she heard the story, she got up and was ready to leave my house. I said, 'Kajol, are you doing the film?' She said, 'No, I want to play Max.' Then she walked out," revealed Mansoor Khan. Eventually, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was cast as Shirley in Josh.
Mansoor revealed that he was worried that no actress wanted to play Max's sister. However, Ash agreed to play the part and he called the actress a thorough professional. Khan revealed that Aishwarya Rai never complained or said anything. He even calls Josh her best film. Further, he revealed how Shah Rukh Khan was always his first choice to play Max. The director wanted to cast Aamir Khan in Chandrachur Singh's role. However, when Aamir was narrated the story, he thought he was being cast as Max. Earlier, even SRK had rejected the offer, thinking Aamir was a part of the film.
