Matt Gaetz has withdrawn his name from AG consideration and it was the right move.

Matt Gaetz has officially taken his hat out of the ring of consideration to serve as Donald Trump’s attorney general, citing the distraction his nomination was from the goals of the incoming administration.
This was the right move. The Ethics Report coupled with Matt Goetz’s already controversial reputation would have made the confirmation process an uphill battle that likely was not worth fighting.
I also find this withdrawal to be strategically sound and I’ll tell you why.
Gaetz was such a controversial nomination that whoever Trump selects as his next choice, will have a much easier time getting across the finish line.
It would be hard to find anyone MORE controversial than Matt Gaetz.
Don’t get me wrong, Democrats are gonna hassle anyone and everyone Trump puts forward, but at least his other picks seemingly hate strong Republican backing in the Senate.
Gaetz made the right decision and now it’s back to the drawing board!
