Brixton Motorcycles has introduced the Cromwell 1200 to the Indian market, pricing it at ₹7.84 lakh (ex-showroom). This launch marks another step in Brixton’s effort to capture the premium motorcycle segment in India, a space that is increasingly drawing the attention of global manufacturers. Known for blending modern engineering with retro-inspired aesthetics, the Cromwell 1200 arrives as a competitor in the growing category of classic cruisers.
The Cromwell 1200 is styled to reflect the golden era of motorcycling but is equipped with contemporary features to meet the expectations of modern riders. Its design includes elements such as a teardrop fuel tank, round headlamps, and a ribbed seat, which pay homage to classic motorcycles while ensuring practicality for urban and long-distance riding.
At the heart of the Cromwell 1200 is a 1,222cc parallel-twin engine that produces 83 hp at 6,550 rpm and 108 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm. This powertrain is paired with a six-speed gearbox, offering a balance between performance and efficiency. The motorcycle also features dual-channel ABS, a ride-by-wire throttle system, and multiple riding modes to adapt to various road conditions.
For suspension, the Cromwell is fitted with KYB telescopic forks at the front and dual KYB shock absorbers at the rear, ensuring stability and comfort. Braking duties are handled by Nissin disc brakes, while the 17-inch rear and 18-inch front wire-spoke wheels come fitted with high-grip tires, enhancing handling and road presence.
The Cromwell 1200 positions itself as a competitor to models such as the Triumph Bonneville and Royal Enfield’s Super Meteor 650. With its combination of nostalgic design and modern features, Brixton aims to attract enthusiasts looking for a blend of style and performance.
The bike will be available at MotoHaus dealerships, with initial deliveries set to begin in December 2024. MotoHaus, a venture of KAW Veloce Motors, plans to expand its retail presence with outlets in key cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore.
With India’s demand for premium motorcycles on the rise, Brixton’s Cromwell 1200 could serve as a significant addition to the segment. However, the brand will face stiff competition in a market where value and after-sales service play critical roles in a product’s success
