‘Fargo’ Creator Noah Hawley Lands New Overall Deal at FX

“Fargo” creator Noah Hawley has signed a new, three-year overall deal with FX Productions and FX Networks, CEO John Landgraf announced Thursday.

Under the deal, Hawley will develop numerous new projects while remaining the creator and showrunner of the Emmy-, Golden Globe- and Peabody-winning limited series.

The second installment of Fargo, which concludes Dec. 14, received three Golden Globe nominations on Thursday – Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Kirsten Dunst), and Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Patrick Wilson).

In addition, Fargo currently ranks as the most critically-acclaimed television series of 2015 on Metacritic with a score of 96 out of 100, and ranked number one among all shows this year in the fifth-annual HitFix Critics’ Television Poll. FX has ordered a third year of the series.

“In a remarkably short time, Noah has proven himself to be one of the best writers and showrunners in television with the stunning, back-to-back success of the ‘Fargo’ franchise,” Landgraf said. “He loves to challenge himself creatively and has a gift for making complex stories engaging and entertaining. We are excited to continue to work closely with Noah and offer all the support he needs to fully realize his vision for these new projects.”

-“Legion,” a co-production with Marvel Television based on the Marvel property of the same name about a man who realizes the visions he sees may in fact be real.

-“Cat’s Cradle,” an adaptation of the Kurt Vonnegut novel about a man who discovers a scientist who worked on the atomic bomb invented a substance with the power to destroy the world called “ice-nine.”

-“Hellhound on His Trail,” based on the book of the same name by Hampton Sides about the James Earl Ray,the man who killed Martin Luther King Jr.
