The Bloomberg poll is here.
CJR on the worm turning:
The media’s months-long treatment of Trump’s incendiary comments as shock entertainment has turned openly adversarial. The flamboyant mogul is now being covered as a threat to American democracy as we know it, and if this week is any indication, campaign coverage could be different from here on out.
“Trump’s statement, even in this season of extremes, is a dangerous proposal that overrides history, the law, and the foundation of America itself,” NBC’s Tom Brokaw said during an on-air editorial Tuesday.
Hey, but don’t get your hopes up. They still do stupid stuff like this: Hillary and Jeb, you too had the worst week year in Washington. Hunter had a great take on it yesterday, but just imagine whether Jeb! or Hillary would be happier if they traded positions.
I'm a fan of the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza, but when he gets one wrong, it's often a doozy. And saying that Hillary Clinton had the "worst year in Washington" is about as wrong as you can get.
Yes, Clinton did, as Cillizza remembers, suffer through a scandal, and she emerged with bruised polling numbers, at least when it came to perceptions of her honesty. If the award was "worst summer in Washington," I could see Clinton as a contestant, although Scott Walker and Matt Williams would be stronger choices.
For the year, though?
