After 3 month of silence Armenian Football Federation disseminated information today revealing the name of the national team’s new head coach. Varujan Sukiasyan (head coach of Ararat Yerevan since 2015) will train the team ahead of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier stage.
Talking to Mediamax Sport, the coach said that he had reached that decision easily.
“I’m ready to do anything for my nation, I’m a perfectionist and I will try to do my best. I understand that super tense work is ahead and I will try to do it to the best of my abilities. Our priorities are to show aggressive, bold and beautiful football”, Sukiasyan said.
He promised to bring new vibes to the team. Most importantly, he would only include players that practice and actually play in their teams.
“Patriotic guys should play in the team. There will be a number of players from the team who wouldn’t be included, but I can’t tell their names now”.
Sukiasyan highlighted that their top priority is to perform well during 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier stage. That’s why they will start training form today. We will see Sukiasyan in action in March 2016, when our national team has friendly matches.
The coach understands that the work he pursued is difficult and demanding and there will be a lot of critical comments.
“I’m ready to hear the comments although I wish the fans and journalists stood by me. If the team plays bad, even my family will criticize me”, he added.
Sukiasyan also stressed that he will combine the work with the national team and Ararat. He will reconsider only if he faces difficulties connected with it.
