|||Diego Costa has admitted he could return to Atletico Madrid in the future as speculation over his future at Chelsea continues.
The Spaniard has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge this season, starting the last two Premier League matches on the bench having only managed to score four times this term.
Questions have been asked about Costa's relationship with boss Jose Mourinho following the Portuguese's decision to bench the 27-year-old, with the Brazilian-born star throwing his subs bib at his manager during the goalless draw at Spurs.
Costa has admitted that the bib incident was a mistake and wants to put it behind him, claiming his target is to build on his good showing in the 2-0 Champions League win over Porto on Wednesday.
"The bib [incident] is in the past. I made a mistake, but my relationship with Mourinho is amazing, we get on really well. There are things you need to control, but the bib thing was an impulse," said Costa.
"I have to improve a bit. The start of the season has not been good for me - not in how I have played nor in goals."
Costa's falling out with Mourinho had led to reports Chelsea could look to replace the striker in January, opening the door for him to leave Stamford Bridge.
Costa has now revealed he would be open to the idea of going back to Atletico, prompting further speculation over how long he will remain in west London.
When asked whether he could follow Filipe Luis in returning to Atletico from Chelsea, Costa said: "You never know, look where Filipe Luis is now.
"Life is full of surprises - I always wish Atletico the best and I always follow them, support them from afar." - Female First
