ArmInfo. Restoring a world order based on international rules and strengthening its legitimacy is the only way to advance global security and development agendas. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at the Yerevan Dialogue forum on September 10.
"But when everyone-individuals, states, NGOs, non-state actors live by and are guided by their own truth, how to reach a common denominator and inviolable truths? - Through dialogues!" the minister noted.
He emphasized that there is no certainty that dialogue will guarantee success, but the absence of dialogue will inevitably deepen the current crisis and noted that this is Armenia's approach. "To continue dialogue even in the most difficult situations, striving to establish common rules of coexistence, to respect, tolerate and if possible, cooperate in mutually beneficial ways. This is the approach we have taken in order to establish lasting peace in our region," Mirzoyan said.
Referring to Martin Luther King's expression that "true peace is not just the absence of shelling, it is the presence of justice," Mirzoyan stressed that today we really need sustainable just and dignified solutions which require strong political will and determination. "Despite all the difficulties and challenges, Armenia has demonstrated and continues to demonstrate will and determination," the head of the MFA concluded.
