ArmInfo.On September 2, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry,during the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuous expansion of close cooperation between Armenia and Georgia at all levels, which is reflected in the strategic partnership agenda announced this year. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia emphasized that this milestone records the strong partnership that has already been formed, but also provides new opportunities for new initiatives and cooperation in different directions.
In terms of expanding the bilateral agenda, the interlocutors also emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy, with the involvement of both foreign relations committees and parliamentary friendly groups. Ararat Mirzoyan and Nikoloz Samkharadze exchanged thoughts on regional issues. In this context, the vision formed in the matter of unblocking transport and economic infrastructures, based on well-known principles and reflected in the "Crossroads of Peace" program, was also addressed. Minister Mirzoyan added. "We are indeed at an important crossroads, and the inclusive implementation of regional programs is beneficial in the context of both economic development and sustainability." At the meeting, the RA Foreign Minister also presented the latest developments in the process of agreeing the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of its conclusion, including in the regional context.
