Man City boss Pellegrini: De Bruyne signing calculated risk
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini admits splashing out for Kevin de Bruyne was a calculated "risk".
City broke their transfer record to sign the Belgium international from Wolfsburg in August, spending £54.9million in the summer.
"Maybe it was a risk to pay the amount of money for Kevin," Pellegrini told Sky Sports News HQ.
“He was here before in the Premier League, but we were so sure that in the style that we play, he would be successful.
"You never know if a player is a very expensive player or a cheap player. It will depend on how the season develops."
