BMW Motorrad is set to expand its adventure touring lineup in India with the upcoming launch of the F900 GS. The latest teaser from the German motorcycle manufacturer confirms the model’s imminent arrival, positioning it as the successor to the popular F850 GS and a more accessible alternative to the flagship R 1300 GS.
Sporting a sharper, rally-inspired design, the 2024 F900 GS boasts a streamlined front end with a reduced beak, a forward-leaning windscreen, and an enduro-style seat. These elements and an exposed white sub-frame contribute to the bike’s rugged appeal. While retaining the overall silhouette of its predecessor, the new model features subtle yet significant updates, including a flatter LED headlamp, wire-spoke wheels, and a reinforced skid plate.
Powering the F900 GS is an 895cc twin-cylinder engine delivering 104 BHP and 93 Nm of torque. The bike’s chassis comprises an inverted front fork, and an adjustable rear mono-shock mounted on an aluminum dual swingarm, and braking duties are handled by dual 305 mm front discs and a single 265 mm rear disc.
A comprehensive suite of features accompanies the F900 GS, including a 6.5-inch digital instrument console, keyless ignition, riding modes, traction control, and ABS. Notably, BMW has shed approximately 14 kg from the previous model, resulting in improved agility. The ergonomics have also been refined with lower footpegs and repositioned handlebars to enhance off-road capabilities.
The much-awaited launch of the BMW F900 GS is expected to take place later this month, with prices estimated to start from Rs 13 lakh to Rs 13.5 lakh for the base variant. The top-spec model is anticipated to be priced at around Rs 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
