Once, Rajesh Khanna emerged out of obscurity to attend an event for Twinkle's film Itihaas. He spoke about being out of action and also opened up about what advice he gave his daughter when she decided to start in the entertainment industry.
In an old interview with, Lehren Retro YouTube channel, he was asked how he gives advice and inspiration to Twinkle all the way from Delhi. The actor said Dimple often asks him for advice, and he would tell her that he had no godfather in the industry when he started out, and that she must find her own way as well.
He also asked her not to take any advice from her mother as well because if she asks her mother for advice, she'll only get more confused. Earlier, Twinkle spoke about how she got to learn a lot from her mother.
She said that when her parents separated she learnt a lot from how her mother conducted herself. She also shared that she learnt that a woman can be the hero of her own story.
