YEREVAN, 6 August. /ARKA/. Armenia's birth rate decreased by 7.7% in January-June 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) said.br/pp
The decline in birth rate has been recorded in Armenia since January this year. Some 15,671 babies were born during the reporting period, while in the first half of 2023 there were 16,985 newborns./pp
At the same time, 227 cases of stillbirth were registered , which is 9.7% more than in the same period of 2023./pp
Overall, there were 13,211 deaths in the country during January-June 2024, an increase of 5.9 per cent over the same period in 2023./pp
