In a historic prisoner exchange brokered by multiple countries, three Americans and one American green-card holder who were unjustly imprisoned in Russia have been released. Those released include American veteran Paul Whelan, Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, Radio Free Europe journalist Alsu Kurmasheva, and Russian journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza. In return, a group of Russian dissidents were swapped including an assassin and several accused of cybercrimes.
FOX’s John Saucier speaks with Brent Sadler, Senior Research Fellow for the Heritage Foundation, Naval Warfare and Advanced Technology, Allison Center for National Security, who hails the exchange but does say Putin had his own political reasons for the move.
