"We held our fifth round of meetings in the border region between Turkiye [i.e. Turkey] and Armenia, on the Armenian side in the morning and on the Turkish side in the afternoon. We discussed, with a constructive understanding, all aspects of the normalization process and the possibilities for further advancement," Serdar Kilic wrote on his X, formerly Twitter. As ArmInfo reported today, the Special Representative in Armenia-Turkey relations normalization process, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kilic held their fifth meeting at the Margara-Alizhan border crossing point of the Armenian-Turkish border. The parties reaffirmed the previously reached agreements and agreed to assess the technical tasks in line with regional developments to ensure the functioning of the Akhurik/Akyaka railway border gate, as well as to simplify mutual visa procedures for diplomatic/official passport holders. They reconfirmed their agreement to continue the settlement process without any preconditions to achieve the ultimate goal of full normalization of relations between the two countries.
