This week, Taiwan is conducting its annual Han Kuang war games which are designed to simulate actual combat specifically an invasion by China. Taiwanese troops, using American missiles and air defense systems, fired on a mock invasion force approaching the island. China, which views Taiwan as its own territory, has been staging military exercises around the democratically governed island for four years to pressure Taipei into submission.
