Cooke had this to say on the seriousness of abandoning the nomination process to insert Kamala Harris as the Democrat nominee for president:
“This is very serious. I think that the Democrats will fairly effectively dismiss the criticisms of the process, although I agree with you, that led Kamala Harris to replace Joe Biden as the nominee and say that’s our concern. Maybe. Fair enough. But THIS, the presidency, that’s not their concern. That is not up to a small clique of people Kamala Harris, Karine Jean-Pierre and others to determine. That’s the public charge. And this ought to be investigated as a public charge. And if this were a Republican, as you imply, it absolutely would be.”
