YEREVAN, 23 July. /ARKA/. The head of the Armenian National Assembly's Defence and Security Committee Andranik Kocharyan believes that a representative of Armenia should travel to Azerbaijani capital Baku to attend the COP29 climate summit, 'but Azerbaijan should undertake to change its rhetoric and stop making demands.'/pp/pp ‘My opinion about Baku's invitation ( sent to Armenia) is normal, but for our participation to become a reality, this enmity (against Armenia) must be terminated and Baku must show that peace prevails in its goals and programmes. The inviting party should also create such conditions,’ Kocharyan told Azatutyun Radio./pp
According to him, Baku ‘must do a lot to make this perception very dignified./pp ‘Baku must change its rhetoric and must also strive for peace, as Armenia strives for it.... It is unequivocally necessary to have a dialogue on the issue that will ensure peace,’ Kocharyan said./pp
The 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) will be held in Baku in November this year. Earlier it became known that the Azerbaijani side sent an invitation to participate in the summit to Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.-0-/p
