Longtime video gamers are probably familiar with the Video Game Awards, which aired for a decade on Spike TV. Last year, a new awards show—The Game Awards—rolled out the red carpet.
A kind of Oscars for the $70 billion gaming industry, the show also made its home where gamers make theirs—and streamed on Xbox, PlayStation and Twitch.
Marketplace's Entertainment correspondent Adriene Hill met up with Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles this week, where he was getting ready for this year’s extravaganza. Hill sat down with Molly Wood and filled her in on the new show and its founder.
