After a decade-long absence, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail has been officially unveiled in India, signaling its imminent arrival. This mid-size SUV enters its fourth generation in the Indian market, offering a compelling package for adventure seekers and families alike.
The new X-Trail embodies Nissan’s contemporary design language. Sharp lines and bold features dominate the exterior, including the signature V-Motion grille with chrome accents, sleek LED lighting elements, and a wide air intake. The SUV boasts a muscular stance with prominent wheel arches, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a roof-mounted spoiler with integrated brake light.
The X-Trail prioritizes practicality with a comfortable 7-seater configuration. The second-row seats offer reclining and sliding functionality, while the third-row provides additional seating with fold-and-recline capabilities. Notably, all rows benefit from a flat floor for enhanced comfort on long journeys. Fabric upholstery adds a touch of sophistication to the spacious cabin.
It gets a dual-pane panoramic sunroof that allows for an airy ambiance, while a digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system keep drivers informed and entertained. Additional conveniences include a wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry and go, and a 360-degree camera system.
Nissan prioritizes occupant safety in the X-Trail. Seven airbags, traction control, hill start assist, and parking sensors come standard. Additionally, the X-Trail boasts advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with features like a 360-degree camera view for enhanced maneuverability.
The India-spec X-Trail features a sole engine option – a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit with a 12V mild-hybrid system. This combination delivers a healthy output of 163 horsepower and 300Nm of torque. Power is channeled through a CVT automatic gearbox to the front wheels, with the all-wheel-drive variant being reserved for other markets.
While an official launch date is yet to be announced, expectations point towards a late July or early August arrival. Given its CBU import status, the X-Trail is expected to fall in the price range of Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
