Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova met with President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania Tulia Ackson on the sidelines of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in St Petersburg, Russia, BelTA learned. "For Belarus, the inter-parliamentary dimension is very important. We are sincerely happy to take part in the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum and convey the position of our state, our MPs to the international community," Natalya Kochanova said. “The BRICS group shares the same goal - to achieve a multipolar world, develop their sovereign, independent states, and improve the well-being of citizens. We are concerned about food security and climate change. Most importantly, we are opposed the use of sanctions and interference in the internal affairs of countries." Belarus is ready for constructive cooperation and remains committed to the fundamental principles of parliamentarism, the speaker noted. "It is very important for us to cooperate with Tanzania in all areas," Natalya Kochanova emphasized. "We will be happy to welcome you on an official visit to our country. We can organize and host any other events. You will see how our country is developing. We seek closer ties in healthcare, education, culture, and economy. Today many speakers called for technology transfer. We are ready for such cooperation and will be happy to establish even closer contacts with the wonderful country of Tanzania."
