The Jaguar I-Pace, the luxury electric vehicle (EV), is no longer listed on the company’s official Indian website. This move has sparked speculation that Jaguar may have discontinued the I-Pace in the Indian market.
Launched in 2021, the I-Pace was one of the first luxury EVs to hit Indian roads. It boasted a 90kWh battery pack, a claimed range of 470km (WLTP), and impressive performance with dual electric motors generating 400PS and 696Nm of torque. Initially, it competed with rivals like the Audi e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQC.
While competitors like Audi and Mercedes-Benz constantly updated their EV offerings, the I-Pace remained unchanged throughout its three years in India. This lack of updates may have hampered its ability to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving electric car market.
The I-Pace isn’t the only car missing from Jaguar’s website. The iconic F-Type sports car, whose global production recently ended, has also been delisted. This leaves the F-Pace SUV as the sole remaining Jaguar model on the company’s Indian website.
Jaguar’s website silence regarding the I-Pace suggests a potential discontinuation for the Indian market. While there’s no official confirmation yet, this move aligns with the brand’s global focus on a new generation of electric vehicles expected to arrive from 2025 onwards.
Only time will tell if Jaguar plans to re-enter the Indian EV market with its upcoming electric lineup. Until then, the I-Pace’s absence marks the end of an era for Jaguar’s electric ambitions in India.
