Tottenham injury news: Ryan Mason to miss West Brom clash with ankle injury as Dele Alli returns from suspension
Mauricio Pochettino will welcome back Dele Alli to his Tottenham squad for Saturday’s visit to West Bromwich Albion, but Ryan Mason has not recovered in time from the ankle injury he picked up against Chelsea.
Mason was forced to hobble off off early in the second half of Sunday’s 0-0 draw after falling awkwardly and left White Hart Lane in a protective boot.
The England international has already missed a month of action this season after picking up a knee injury in September, though Pochettino does not expect Mason to be absent for as long this time.
“Ryan is out, he has an ankle injury and we hope it's not a big issue,” he told reporters ahead of the trip to the Midlands.
Alli will return from the sidelines to compensate for Mason’s injury, whilst Pochettino had encouraging news to share with regards to the injury fate of two other midfielders, with Nacer Chadli and Nabil Bentaleb on the road to recovery from their ankle injuries.
"Nabil and Nacer are very close to training with the team again," Pochettino confirmed.
